Anyone who has seen their favorite sub shop bought out by a private equity firm only to watch as the price of their subs goes up while the sandwiches shrink, knows that private equity is looking out for nothing more than the shareholder's profit margin. Sadly, the pool service industry is no different. The most expensive pool services in San Diego and Orange Counties these days offer more in the way of custom wrapped trucks than they do in terms of professional knowledge about how to care for your pool in a way that protects your family and your investment. On the other end of the spectrum, "splash and dash" pool services offer the cheapest rates - at a (potentially) far greater cost to you, your family, and, your pool. At best, they simply subsidize their low rates they use chemicals which make the water appear clear, but, which damage your pool's structure, end up requiring pool draining, and, can result in blonde hair turning green, and, rashes on your kids.
